were eager to do something completely different and ‘off
the map’”
“The
unveiling of the X-Wedge at Cincinnati was a historic
moment for this company. The support of the 2nd generation
and board regarding this endeavor, the creativity and
innovation by the product development team, the effort
on part of the builders, the collaboration with V-Twin
and Mobil 1, and the hard work by the S&S events
and marketing crew made our public release a tremendous
success,” said S&S president Brett Smith. “I
want to especially thank Scott Sjovall (VP-Product Development),
Roy Meyer (Principal Innovation Engineer), Jeff Bailey
(X-Wedge Project Lead), Justin Bramstedt (X-Wedge Test
Lead), and all their subordinates for such hard work
and dedication on this project. They—product development—are
the real heart of this company. I also want to thank
the many customers and dealers that attended the X-Wedge
unveiling and seminar to ask questions and show their
support.” Smith went on to say, “One of my
greatest takeaways from the weekend was the overwhelming
feeling from those that we spoke with that this was ‘their’ engine
as much as it was an S&S engine—something new
and unique to the custom performance v-twin industry.
Having heard that from so many was a very humbling experience
and I only hope that S&S and the X-Wedge will live
up to everyone’s expectations—particularly
since we made it with you—the v-twin enthusiast—in
mind.”
