There
has been much speculation about the new S&S X-Wedge
engine, and we are proud to finally present the details
of this groundbreaking product. Through a joint project
promotion, you will get exclusive photos of the first
five completely custom built bikes on the pages of
V-TWIN this year. The builders in this unique project—dubbed
Project X--are Big Dog Motorcycles, Roger Bourget,
Tim Edmondson, Cory Ness, and Bill Rucker. The bikes
will be in the S&S display during Daytona Bike
Week, Laughlin River Run, Myrtle Beach Bike Week,
Laconia Rally and Races and Sturgis Bike Week. |

Motorcycles—Cory Ness
There
is something you might not know about Cory Ness,
he is the chief designer behind all that is Arlen
Ness Enterprises. Yes, Cory is the son of the
most famous motorcycle builder there is, Arlen
Ness, but Cory was building customs his way while
he was still in high school. His designs and
ideas incorporated a lot of what he learned from
his father, but his style is definitely Cory. |

Dog Motorcycles
Back
in 1994, Sheldon Coleman knew what he wanted—a
production motorcycle with power, style and high-quality
components. There were none, so he started Big
Dog Motorcycles. From a very modest start, Big
Dog is now in their 13th year and has produced
over 20,000 motorcycles.
The company is at a point now where all five models produced feature 117 cubic
inch engines, six-speed transmissions, a stretched one-piece gas tank, award-winning
BDM balance Drive, wide rear tire, steel fenders and extensive paint and graphic
options. |

Bike Works—Roger Bourget
Bored
with how far a stock bike could be modified,
Roger Bourget decided to start building his own
frames in 1992. That lead to the birth of Bourget’s
Bike Works and By 1993 Roger was working fulltime
at supplying the industry with wild bikes. |

| ECB—Tim
Edmondson
Tim
Edmondson made his mark in the custom bike
world about 11 years ago when he co-founded
American IronHorse Motorcycle. At AIH, Tim
was the chief designer and created the industry’s
first production chopper known as the Texas
Chopper. Over the course of 20 years of custom
bike building experience, Tim and his bikes
have been featured by numerous motorcycle,
lifestyle and business press and have been
covered by CNN, SPEED, and the Discovery Channel. |

| Rucker
Performance—Bill Rucker
With
an extensive background in drag racing, hot rods
and radically custom v-twin motorcycles, Bill
Rucker is focused on his goal of leading the
high performance custom vehicle industry. Rucker
Performance Motorcycle Company was founded in
2003 and currently builds four production motorcycles.
In 2006, Rucker Performance set a record being the first manufacturer to pass
emission standards and receive EPA certification for an S&S T-124, closed-loop
VFI engine equipped motorcycle. |
